Note the matte black saya (scabbard) and black cotton sageo. The katana has a 27 1/4" blade and a 12 1/4" tsukka, while the wakizashi has a 20" blade and a 6 3/4" tsukka.

These come with a medium (chu) kissaki and are hand forged, high carbon steel blades. They are differentially tempered using a traditional claying method to achieve the hamon (temper line) shown above - but more importantly, it gives a very hard edge (Rc60) and a soft, flexible back (Rc40).

The tsukka (handle) is wrapped with real same (skin from the back of a ray) to enhance strength and grip, and then wrapped with synthetic leather tsukka-ito (handle wrapping cord). The fittings are an antiqued black dogwood motif, with a sunburst tsuba (guard)

Note the same attention to detail, materials, and hamon evident in the wakizashi and tanto. The tanto in this series has an 11" blade and a 4 1/4" tsukka.
